Lorem ipsum is always the perfect length. Real headlines are not. Real product names are long, real prices have decimals, and real users have names that do not fit in your carefully balanced card.
What real content reveals
- Navigation labels that need two lines.
- Empty states nobody designed, because the placeholder list was always full.
- Images that look nothing like the stock photo in the mock-up.
Where to find it
When the client has no copy yet, I write a rough first draft myself. It is never the final text, but it is honest about length and tone. For data-heavy screens, I ask for an export of real records and anonymise them.
